IMG_4061I am not sure if any of you out there are like me- you know the type: You love food, you love your beer & wine, and you love having a good time. You also lead an active lifestyle- gym time, walks, hikes, running, golfing, swimming, really whatever gets you moving along….whatever helps to burn those food & drink calories and keeps you feeling good :). Well since moving to Malaysia, my food & drink intake has increased dramatically, but then again my activity levels are also increasing- so many fun things to do & adventures to go on!! However, I am not sure if my activity levels are enough to compensate for my indulgences as of late! The asian fusion cuisines found around the region are amazing, and meeting up with new friends over a bottle of wine or a few beers has never been so easy and enticing. Pair these things with being in my mid-30’s and recently giving birth to my first child, and well quite honestly, my body could use a little kick-start!

Enter Chi Fitness at Bangsar Shopping Center. I lucked out in finding this boutique gym soon after moving to Malaysia over a year ago and have been hooked ever since. They cap their membership so as the small gym doesn’t ever get overcrowded and membership isn’t cheap….so you know the members are serious about maintaining a healthy lifestyle- something that is contagious to be around. Along with the usual suspects of Lifestyle cardio and weight machines & personal training sessions, the gym’s crowning glory are their group fitness classes.

There are 2 types of classes specifically that rock my world. Spinning with Jenny and TRX with Rodney. Kicks.my.butt…..every single time. I love it. I thrive off of it and I have never felt so in shape & healthy in my life. Don’t get me wrong, these classes are not for the faint of heart, and everything you put into it, you will get in return 150%. But don’t slack cause its all on you. Trust me ;).

Along with these 2 kick-ass classes, there are others- I personally love taking advantage of their pilates & yoga classes, but there are also Zumba, Powerpump, & more. All of the instructors are top notch and really know how to get you motivated, because lets be honest, we all need a good shove sometimes! Once I have finished with my workout, I take a quick shower and head over to The Daily Habit cafe, adjacent to the gym. This awesome & cozy spot serves up mouthwatering healthy dishes & drinks in a relaxed environment. A perfect way to end my workout.

So if you are living in KL or thinking about it, check it out- you won’t be sorry!

See ya around~
